This AI-Powered Backpack Helps the Visually Impaired Navigate the World

Rather than using his talent to give robots sight, artificial intelligence engineer Jagadish K. Mahendran is helping visually impaired people "see" the world around them with AI. He and his team designed a voice-activated backpack equipped with a Luxonis OAK-D spatial AI camera running on Intel technology to give the wearer added depth perception capabilities.
