CERN Uses DLBoost, oneAPI to Juice Inference Without Accuracy Loss

Monte Carlo-based simulations—which are crucial to data analytics and part of many scientific, engineering, and financial applications—consume huge amounts of compute at CERN's Large Hadron Collider. With help from Intel Deep Learning Boost and oneAPI, CERN scientists have been able to accelerate inferencing nearly two-fold by using reduced precision without sacrificing accuracy.

Aquaculture Thrives as IoT Improves Production

Fish farming is a rapidly growing albeit inherently challenging industry. That's because unlike cattle ranchers, for instance, fish farmers can't see most of the fish in order to monitor their growth. To reduce overfeeding and improve sustainability, some farmers are turning to machine learning and computer vision tools like those found in the Intel-powered Aquadlink Smart Aquaculture Application System.
