3. Technology Needs Have Shifted While work may have moved outside the office, the need for collaboration has not. For IT Ops, this means equipping employees with better technology like cameras, monitors, and microphones. While roughly half of those surveyed said they're accelerating technology adoption and providing better at-home tools, 35% said that supply chain constraints and refresh cycle shifts could mean longer refresh cycles. 4. IT Ops Are Embracing Innovation To meet the needs of employees who are working from home or sharing an office, IT Ops are finding creative new solutions to meet their needs. Over half (56%) of IT Ops surveyed said they're embracing virtual desktop solutions — where user environments are stored remotely — for shared offices, while 46% are completing new-hire integrations remotely. 5. It's Easier to Get Work Done Despite the assumption that it would be easier for IT Ops to complete their work in an office environment, 64% said their team culture is better now than it was 18 months ago, with 82% saying that team collaboration is working well. The takeaway here? Remote work is not only sustainable in the long run but might actually introduce new efficiencies and even improve team morale.
