Source: Intel Intel and Google Cloud Team With All of Us Research Program Intel has joined the NIH's All of Us Research Program, which aims to improve population health by providing biomedical data from underrepresented groups to COVID-19 researchers in the U.S. Using the Researcher Workbench platform—powered by Intel Xeon Scalable processors—researchers will be able to access the diverse data they need to advance precision diagnosis, prevention, and treatment. Listen now Source: Intel Intel Embree Wins Academy Scientific and Technical Award Awards season is upon us, and the Academy has kicked things off by awarding the open-source Intel Embree ray tracing engine with a Scientific and Technical Achievement award. A component of the Intel oneAPI Rendering Toolkit, Intel Embree has been used by filmmakers to create stunning visuals for movies like "Trolls," "The Grinch," and "Avengers: Infinity War." Read more Source: The Next Platform CERN Uses DLBoost, oneAPI to Juice Inference Without Accuracy Loss Monte Carlo-based simulations—which are crucial to data analytics and part of many scientific, engineering, and financial applications—consume huge amounts of compute at CERN's Large Hadron Collider. With help from Intel Deep Learning Boost and oneAPI, CERN scientists have been able to accelerate inferencing nearly two-fold by using reduced precision without sacrificing accuracy. That's because unlike cattle ranchers, for instance, fish farmers can't see most of the fish in order to monitor their growth. To reduce overfeeding and improve sustainability, some farmers are turning to machine learning and computer vision tools like those found in the Intel-powered Aquadlink Smart Aquaculture Application System.
